Background

ISHAD 2021 is brought together by Malaysian Universities Housing Council (MAPUM) and Universiti Utara Malaysia with a common concern in the fields student housing and development. We seek to build an intellectual discourse, collaborative network and partnership where we can make linkages across disciplinary, geographic, and cultural boundaries. ISHAD 2021 aims to:

  • Enhance the residential college management in a variety of situations that meet the safety and health aspects of students.
  • Share ideas and innovations in crisis management and provision of services to students in residential colleges in pandemic situations.
  • Establish residential college management guidelines that comply with the practice of the new norms.
  • Make residential colleges the centre of academic and co-curricular excellence to produce future leaders.

Scope of The Seminar

  • Empowerment of student development in residential colleges in the new norms.
  • Sustainability of residential colleges in cultivating new norms.
  • The role of residential colleges in nurturing students in terms of skills, personality, identity and integrity for student marketability (GE).
  • Strengthen the integration and innovation of IR4.0 technology in the management of student health and well-being in residential colleges.
  • Readiness of residential colleges and students in crisis management.
  • The role of residential colleges in the formation of new learning ecosystems.
