UUM WELCOMES A NEW BATCH OF 955 STUDENTS INTO THE SECOND SEMESTER OF THE 2017/2018 SESSION

UUM ONLINE: 20 February - A total of 955 students accepted the offer from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) to enrol for the second semester of the 2017/2018 academic session which commences on 21 February 2018.

Of these, 652 were local students and 303 international students from Indonesia, China, Brunei, Japan, Somalia, Yemen and Nigeria who enrolled in 30 academic programmes offered at the university.

The three hundred and three international students were those who attended and completed the B172 Intensive Programme, CELEC 17 and also mobility students.

The new students who registered yesterday, excluding 145 mobility students who will enrol on 25 February, were given a warm welcome by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Students Affairs and Alumni), Prof. Dr. Abdul Malek Abdul Karim, who represented the Vice-Chancellor of UUM.

Prof. Dr. Abdul Malek gave a briefing to the new students and this was followed by another briefing to all parents and guardians at DKG 2/2.

The Oath Taking Ceremony for the Second Semester of the 2017/2018 academic session will be attended by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato' Seri Dr. Mohamed Mustafa Ishak and senior officers of UUM at TM Student Residential Hall.
